The thermomass building insulation system complies with section j of the bca and is a fully integrated highly energy efficient insulated concrete sandwich wall system. Sandwich panels consist of two thin shells of high strength concrete bonded to a core of rigid low density insulation. In general sandwich wall panels comprise two layers or wythes of concrete separated by a layer of rigid insulation and are tied together with a series of connectors or fasteners. The insulation may also be extended to the panel edge if desired.

The exterior wythe will act as a barrier from the elements and protect the insulation from any damage.
